Important Information Flying with Us

Bookings

We strongly recommend that you make your bookings in advance and at the start of your Queenstown itinerary, to ensure you are not disappointed. If we cannot fly due to adverse weather, we can try and transfer your booking to another day. Alternatively, if you prefer, you can cancel at no charge.

To make a booking please use our secure booking form by clicking the book now button placed throughout the site. Please note that your credit card details are required to make a booking however no charges will be processed until the day your flight departs. Agents will be advised if vouchered clients are cancelled due to weather.

Reconfirmations

Please call us at least 24hours prior to departure to reconfirm your booking details and departure time. This will allow alternative flight arrangements to be made if weather conditions are unfavourable or if changes need to be made due to us not reaching minimum numbers.

Prices & Payments

All prices are quoted in New Zealand Dollars and include a 15% Goods and Service Tax. All prices are subject to change without notice. Christmas Day is subject to a 20% Public Holiday surcharge. Fuel surcharges may also apply.

We welcome New Zealand currency, agent vouchers, Visa, Mastercard & AMEX. Please note that credit cards incur a 1.5% surcharge. To reduce credit card fraud, if you would like us to charge the credit card that was used to secure the booking online, the card must be presented when you check-in.

Child Prices & Age Requirements

Child rates are calculated at 70% of the adult fare unless otherwise stated.

  • Scenic Flights: Children aged 0-11 years are eligible for child rates. 12 years and over are considered adults.
  • Snowmobiling: The minimum age is 6 years. Children aged between 6-14 years can ride as pillion passengers with an accompanying adult and are eligible for child rates. 15 years and over are considered adults, and can operate their own snowmobile, subject to ability and the guide’s discretion – proof of age is required.

Cancellation Policy

Standard Bookings

  • Cancellations made more than 24 hours before departure will receive a full refund. Cancellations or changes made within 24 hours of departure are non-refundable and will incur a 100% cancellation fee.

Group Bookings (3+ Helicopters)

  • Cancellations made more than 7 days before departure will receive a full refund.
  • Cancellations or significant changes made between 7 and 3 days prior to departure will incur a 50% cancellation fee.
  • Cancellations or significant changes within 3 days of departure are non-refundable and will incur a 100% cancellation fee.

Snowmobiling

If your experience ends early due to adverse weather or snow conditions, the following refunds will apply based on on the completed duration:

  • If the flight operates but snowmobiling does not take place, a 50% refund will be given.
  • If the snowmobiling activity lasts less than 30 minutes, a 25% refund will be given.
  • If the snowmobiling activity lasts more than 30 minutes, no refund will apply.

Flight Duration

The away times specified in the flight itinerary are approximate and can be subject to weather conditions. On occasion, flight paths and landing locations may change at the pilot’s discretion. We will always keep you informed of any changes to the published information.

Minimum Numbers

Minimum numbers apply unless otherwise stated. In the event we do not reach minimum numbers, individual bookings may be combined and we will contact you to arrange an alternative time if necessary. We carry a maximum of 6 passengers per Squirrel and H130 helicopter, and 9 passengers in the H145 helicopter, keeping within Civil Aviation Authority restrictions.

Passenger Weights

We are required by New Zealand Civil Aviation Authority regulations to confirm all passenger weights. For this reason we ask for all individual, dressed weights (including footwear) at the time of booking. In the event the weight restrictions of the helicopter are exceeded, we may contact you to change the time of your flight. You will also be weighed on the day of departure and if your declared weights are not accurate, additional fees may be incurred should we need to use a different or additional helicopter in order to accommodate you and your party.

Courtesy Coach

We are located at 35 Lucas Place, Frankton (near Queenstown Airport). We have plenty of free parking at the front of our hangar. If you do not have a vehicle and would like a complimentary pick up, we have select pick up locations in the Queenstown area.

What to Wear/Bring

As you’ll be outdoors in an alpine environment on your landing, dress in warm, comfortable layers, with a windproof jacket. Closed-toe shoes are recommended for both comfort and safety. Don’t forget your camera, sunglasses, hat and sunblock. You’re welcome to bring a small bag for any personal items you need to carry with you.

Adventure Activity

The Queenstown Snowmobiles tour is classed as an adventure activity and carries a degree of risk. As such, you need to be aware that we cannot absolutely guarantee your safety. Queenstown Snowmobiles are the provider of the adventure activity and have been assessed to meet or exceed the Health and Safety at Work (Adventure Activities) Regulations 2016.

Dangerous Goods
