Glacier Southern Lakes Helicopters provides exciting New Zealand sightseeing flights and helicopter tours in and around Queenstown, Milford Sound, Doubtful Sound and Fiordland National Park from its base in Queenstown.

International Bookings
During our busy summer and winter months we strongly recommend that you make your flight bookings in advance to ensure that you are not disappointed. If we cannot fly due to adverse weather, we can transfer your booking to another base or another day. Alternatively, if you would prefer, we will refund you in full.

Prices and Payments
All prices are in New Zealand dollars and include 12.5% GST (Goods and Services Tax). All prices are subject to change without notice. We welcome all major credit cards, travellers' cheques and New Zealand currency.

Children's Prices
Under 4 years - free of charge (carried on adult's lap -one infant per adult). 4-12 years inclusive - 70% of adult fare.

Flight Durations
The away times (flight durations) specified in the Flight Tour itineraries are approximate and can be subject to weather conditions.

Flight Paths
On occasion, flight path may change at the pilot's discretion. We will keep you informed of any changes to the published information.

On board our aircraft you receive headphones so you can listen to the pilots in-flight commentary and learn more about this special part of the world.

We are very proud of our helicopter pilots who are experienced in all kinds of mountain flying. They have a comprehensive knowledge of this world-famous region and love to share this with visitors.

Minimum and Maximum Passenger Numbers
On all scenic flights, minimum numbers apply. Individual bookings may be combined if necessary to achieve minimum numbers. We carry a maximum of six passengers per aircraft. On Kawarau jetboats a minimum of four passengers applies.

Profile and Qualifications
Glacier Southern Lakes Helicopters operates a fleet of 11 aircraft and our hangar and maintenance facilities are inspected and approved by the NZ Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). All our maintenance procedures comply with international civil aviation safety standards.



All pilots hold a New Zealand Commercial Helicopter Pilot Licence and are regularly subjected to stringent performance checks to meet New Zealand CAA Part 135 requirements. These are specific to specialised techniques required for alpine flying. All company operating procedures are documented in the Company Operations Manual which is, by law, approved by the NZ CAA. We are a CAA Approved Operator.
